This lesson, based on Matthew 16:21-28, explores total devotion and the cost of following Jesus, including the price of staying to the end. The main ideas covered are: (1) Jesus’ mission must be my mission, (2) each disciple has a death to die to self, (3) discipleship requires suffering, sacrifice, and even death, and (4) the promised reward is worth it! The lesson concludes with the encouragement that when life gets hard, remember Jesus is coming back and it is worth it.
